LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), May 26 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's Nova Ljubljanska Banka [LJE:NLBR] will shut down 10 branch offices across the country as of June 15, as the popularity of internet banking among its clients is increasing.
"We at NLB have been observing for a long time how customers' user habits are changing. Customers are increasingly using digital ways of doing business as they are simple and convenient, as well as available to use any time at any place," NLB said in a statement on Monday, adding that during the coronavirus pandemic its digital services have become even more popular.
"This change of habits will certainly have a big impact on the visiting of our branches in the future, therefore on the basis of an analysis of key criteria such as profitability, expansion potential and geographical location, and the prediction of market conditions, we have decided to continue with the optimisation of our business network," NLB explained.
In particular, NLB's branches in Bled, Lucija, Mislinja, Poljanska, Radenici, Semic, Senovo, Stari Trg, Sentvid and Trzaska will close doors as of the middle of June.
NLB is also present in Bosnia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Montenegro.
NLB's shares traded at 37 euro ($41) by 12:12 CET on Tuesday on the Ljubljana bourse, unchanged from Monday's close.
