LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), May 23 (SeeNews) – Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator remained unchanged on a monthly comparison basis in May, after decreasing by 1.0 p.p. in April, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The value of the consumer confidence indicator has been declining since the beginning of the year.
Among its components, consumers’ expectations about Slovenia’s economy and about the number of unemployed improved (by 2 p.p. and 1 p.p., respectively), while the expectations about households’ finances and savings remained unchanged, the statistical office said in a monthly consumer survey.
In May, the value of the consumer confidence indicator was 6 p.p. lower than in the same month of 2018. Among its components, the expectations about the country’s economy and the number of unemployed worsened the most - by 13 p.p. and 11 p.p., respectively.
Expectations about household finances also decreased by 3 p.p., whereas the expectations about savings improved by 2 p.p. compared to May 2018.
