September 20 (SeeNews) - Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator decreased by 5 percentage points (p.p.) on a monthly comparison basis in September, after dropping by 2 percentage points in August, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The consumer confidence indicator worsened at the monthly level due to more pessimistic expectations of consumers about the country’s economy (by 9 p.p.), about their savings (by 6 p.p.) and about household finances (by 5 p.p.). Expectations about the number of unemployed remained the same as in the previous month, the statistics agency said.
In September, the value of the consumer confidence indicator dropped by 6 p.p. compared to the same month last year, remaining 11 percentage points above the long-term average.
The main reason for the decline in the consumer confidence indicator at the annual level were the much more pessimistic expectations about the country’s economy (by 20 p.p.). The expectations about the number of unemployed also worsened, by 7 p.p., while consumers’ expectations about their savings marginally improved (by 2 p.p.).
