LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), August 26 (SeeNews) – Slovenian chemicals producer Cinkarna Celje [LJE:CICG] said on Wednesday its net profit fell 21% on the year to 9.9 million euro ($11.7 million) in the first half of 2020.
The company's net sales revenue fell 4% on the year to 89 million euro in January-June, with exports dropping 2% on the year to 81 million euro in the review period, Cinkarna Celje said in its semi-annual financial report.
Expenses for goods, materials and equipment increased by 4% to 56 million euro, while wages and labour costs fell 1% to 15.4 million euro, the statement read.
The company's operating profit was down 22% to 11.7 million euro in the first six months of 2020.
Cinkarna Celje was established in 1873. Its core business is production and marketing of titanium dioxide pigment.
Its shares traded at 167 euro by 13:38 CET on Wednesday on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange, up from 164 euro at Tuesday's close.
