September 23 (SeeNews) - Serbia's Nis airport said that it served 248,997 passengers in the first eight months of 2022, sharply up from 79,000 in the like period of the previous year when Covid-related travel restrictions were in place.
The number of takeoffs and landings at Nis airport rose to 1,274 from 579 during the review period, Nis Airport said in a data release posted on its website.
Cargo volume went down 75.4% on an annual comparison basis in January-August, to 71.7 tonnes from 291.8 tonnes, according to the data.
In August alone, the number of passengers amounted to 47,822, up from 30,538 in August 2021 and a 2.9% increase compared to July 2022.
