BELGRADE (Serbia), February 10 (SeeNews) - Serbia's competition authority said on Monday it has approved the acquisition of aircraft maintenance services provider JAT Tehnika by Czech company Avia Prime, it said.

The Commission for Protection of Competition has estimated that the transaction would not distort competition in Serbia since Avia Prime has no presence on the local market, it said in a notice posted on its website.

In November, Serbia's economy ministry decided to sell JAT Tehnika to Avia Prime. The Czech company was the sole bidder in the tender for the sale of the 99.38% stake in JAT Tehnika. A month earlier, the economy ministry launched the sale of JAT Tehnika at a starting price of 10.2 million euro ($11.2 million), equal to the estimated fair market value of JAT Tehnika's share capital offered for sale as of December 31, 2018.
