July 8 (SeeNews) - Serbia’s unemployment rate is expected to fall to 10% by the end of 2019, the director of the country's employment agency, Zoran Martinovic, said.
"We have an unemployment rate of about 10% in Belgrade and Vojvodina, but the average is higher due to bigger unemployment in southeastern Serbia," Martinovic said in a video file posted on the website of Serbian public broadcaster RTS on Sunday.
Seasonal jobs have an effect on the jobless rate in the third and fourth quarter of 2019, and then the lowest unemployment rates are recorded, Martinovic said.
Serbia’s unemployment rate fell to 12.1% in the first quarter of 2019, down by 0.8 percentage points compared to the previous quarter, the statistical office said in May.
