March 23 (SeeNews) - Russian flag carrier Aeroflot said it will suspend regular flights from Moscow to Bulgaria, Croatia and Greece starting from late March due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Flights to the Bulgarian capital of Sofia will be temporarily cancelled in the period between March 27 until April 17, while the service to Croatia's capital Zagreb will be suspended from March 24 until April 19, the flag carrier said in a statement over the weekend.

Aeroflot will not operate flights between Moscow and Athens from March 24 to April 18, it also said.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic Aeroflot has already suspended flights to other destinations in Southeast Europe (SEE) as follows: Romania's Chisinau (16 March to 31 March), Greece's Thessaloniki (16 March to 23 April), Slovenia's Ljubljana (18 March to 23 April), Montenegro's Tivat (18 March to 23 April) and Serbia's Belgrade (21 March to 23 April).
