September 30 (SeeNews) - Romanian automated payment solutions provider SelfPay said its turnover increased by 17.5% on the year to approximately 70 million lei ($13.9 million/14.1 million euro) in the first six months of 2022.
In the first half of the year, SelfPay opened 1,400 new self payment terminals, the company said in a press release on Thursday.
During the January-June period, the number of transactions registered through SelfPay's terminals saw an annual increase of 20%, while the volume of payments rose by 27%.
In June, SelfPay expanded its operations abroad, opening payment terminals in Ireland. The company plans future expansion in France, Italy, Spain and other countries in the region.
Earlier this year, SelfPay borrowed 4 million euro for investments in expanding its terminals network and developing proprietary software and a mobile appplication.
Established as ZebraPay in 2009, SelfPay operates over 8,200 payment stations in over 1,000 locations across the country and abroad.
