August 28 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 3,807 building permits for residential projects in July, down 7.5% from a year earlier, the national statistics board, INS, said on Thursday.
On a monthly basis, the number of issued residential building permits decreased by 0.4% in July, INS said in a statement.
As many as 61.5% of the permits issued in July were for projects located in Romania's rural areas.
The total number of permits for residential buildings issued in the first seven months of 2014 was 21,556, up 0.2% on the year.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
In 2013, the number of permits issued for residential buildings in Romania edged down 0.2% to 37,776.
