April 13 (SeeNews) - Romanian low-cost carrier Blue Air said on Wednesday it opened a base in Iasi and plans to launch eleven new routes from the eastern city starting this summer.
Blue Air is allocating two aircraft to the base in Iasi, the company's fourth in Romania, it said in a press release.
The new routes will connect Iasi to Brussels, Barcelona, Paris, Dublin, London, Dusseldorf, Munich, Rome, Heraklion, Mykonos, and Zakynthos.
"Blue Air is committed to further consolidating its position in Iasi by expanding its network to 25 destinations and positioning four Boeing 737-MAX-8 aircraft in the summer of 2023," Blue Air commercial director Krassimir Tanev said.
Blue Air, the only air carrier in Romania with 100% domestic capital, started operations in December 2004. As of end-2020, the company had transported over 32 million passengers over 340 million km.
