January 27 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 6.6% year-on-year to 267.5 billion lei ($62 billion/56 billion euro) in December, compared to a 7.2% growth in November, the central bank, BNR, said on Monday.
Private lending in lei increased by 9.3% on the year to 180.9 billion lei in December, after growing by 9.7% in November, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency rose by 1.3% to 86.5 billion lei, compared to a 2.4% rise in November.
