May 24 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector grew 7.6% year-on-year to 256.5 billion lei ($60 billion/54 billion euro) in April, compared to a 7.7% growth in March, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
Private lending in lei increased by 11% on the year to 169.4 billion lei in April following a rise of 11.3% in March, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency rose by 1.6% to 87.1 billion lei, compared to a 1.4% rise in March.
