November 12 (SeeNews) - Romania's annual consumer price inflation decelerated to 4.25% in October from 5.0% in the previous month, the national statistical office, INS, said on Monday.
Food prices rose 3.73% year-on-year in October, while non-food prices increased 5.27%, INS said in a statement.
Prices of services grew by 2.73% year-on-year in October.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.52% in October, as food prices gained 0.61%, non-food prices increased by 0.52% and prices of services rose 0.35%.
Earlier this month, Romania's central bank BNR Romania's central bank said it is keeping its annual inflation forecast for 2018 at 3.5%, at the upper end of its target band of 1.5-3.5%.
Also in November, BNR maintained its monetary policy rate at 2.50%. BNR last changed the rate in May, increasing it to 2.50% from 2.25%, the third rate hike this year.
