January 14 (SeeNews) - Romania's annual consumer price inflation decelerated to 3.27% in December from 3.43% in the previous month, the national statistical office, INS, said on Monday.
Food prices rose 3.10% year-on-year in December, while non-food prices increased 2.75%, INS said in a statement.
Prices of services grew by 2.44% in December.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.16% in December, as food prices rose 0.67%, non-food prices edged down by 0.18%, while prices of services rose 0.15%.
In November, Romania's central bank (BNR) affirmed its annual inflation forecast for 2018 at 3.5%, at the upper end of its target band of 1.5-3.5%.
In January, BNR maintained its monetary policy rate at 2.50%. BNR last changed the rate in May, increasing it to 2.50% from 2.25%, the third rate hike this year.
