September 25 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 10.5% on the year to 314.3 billion lei ($79 billion/67 billion euro) in August, compared to an annual increase of 10.9% in July, the central bank, BNR, said on Tuesday.
Leu deposits increased 7.6% year-on-year to 208.5 billion lei in August, after growing by 8.5% in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 16.9% on the year to 105.7 billion lei in August, after growing by 16.1% in July.
