August 29 (SeeNews) - The Romanian stock indices rose on Friday amid higher equity turnover, data from the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, indicated.
The bourse's total equity turnover rose to 72.5 million lei ($21.7 million/16.5 million euro) from 55.4 million lei on Thursday on the back of block deals in blue-chip fund Fondul Proprietatea [BSE:FP]. A total of 20 million Fondul Proprietatea shares, equal to 0.15% of its share capital, changed hands in three block deals totalling 17.5 million lei.
Power distributor and supplier Electrica [BSE:EL] gained 2.37% to 22.65 lei in Friday's largest turnover of 17.7 million lei.
Fondul Proprietatea rose 0.80% to 0.8770 lei in the second-largest turnover in regular trading, of 10.2 million lei.
Romanian oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP], ended 1.66% up at 0.4900 lei in 4.8 million lei turnover, the day's third largest.
