August 27 (SeeNews) - The Romanian stock indices firmed on Wednesday as turnover rose, data from the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB, indicated.
The bourse's total equity turnover rose to 44.6 million lei ($13.4 million/10.2 million euro) from 16.8 million lei on Tuesday boosted by block deals with three blue-chip companies.
Shares of investment fund Fondul Proprietatea [BSE:FP], oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP], and lender BRD [BSE:BRD] changed hands on Wednesday for a total of some 22 million lei.
Power distributor and supplier Electrica [BSE:EL] added 1.43% to 11.32 lei in Wednesday's largest turnover in regular trading of 11.7 million lei.
Fondul Proprietatea gained 0.40% to 0.8730 lei in the second-largest turnover of 4.0 million lei.
Romanian natural gas producer Romgaz [BSE:SNG], decreased 0.17% to 35.94 lei in 1.2 million lei turnover, the day's third largest.
