April 4 (SeeNews) - The Romanian Railway Reform Authority has launched a 4.56 billion lei ($1.1 billion/960 million euro) tender for purchase of between 40 and 80 passenger trains and their maintenance, local media reported.
The first train should be delivered within no more than 24 months, Romanian news website Economica.net reported on Wednesday.
The deadline for submitting offers is June 3.
Candidates should prove that they have delivered at least 40 similar trains over the past three years.
The duration of the contract, including the 15-year maintenance period, will be 18 years.
