June 7 (SeeNews) - Romania's road infrastructure company CNAIR said on Tuesday that a consortium comprising local company Coni and Bulgarian civil engineering company Trace Group Hold signed a 1.25 billion lei ($270 million/253 million euro) contract to build the first section of a motorway that will connect Romania's historical regions of Moldova and Muntenia.
The 28.35 km-long section between Mizil in Prahova county and Pietroasele in Buzau county should be built in 20 months, with an warranty period of 10 years, CNAIR said in a press release.
The two companies will also build 20 road bridges as part of the motorway section. It is one of four sections which will form the A7 motorway to connect Ploiesti in southern Romania, and Pascani in the eastern part of the country.
Founded in 1992 in Prahova county, Coni is active in various fields, such as plumbing and heating works, extensions and rehabilitation of water, sewerage and natural gas networks, construction works for residential and non-residential buildings, road and bridge construction works as well as production of concrete and asphalt.
Established in 2004, Trace Group Hold PLC carries out major public projects in the field of infrastructure, environment, public works and hydro-technical construction, and construction of buildings.
