June 8 (SeeNews) - Romanian clothes designer and retailer Vagabond Studio opened a store in London following an investment of 800,000 euro ($857,800), real estate company CBRE said on Wednesday.
The 225 sq m store is the retailer's first location abroad, CBRE, which secured the space for Vagabond Studio, said in a press release.
The unit employs 15.
"Vagabond Studio's decision to expand internationally was a natural step for the company, considering the large number and positive reaction of Western shoppers who visited the stores in Romania. Also, when decided to expand, the company took in consideration the income, standard of living and purchasing power of UK market,
assets that make this the biggest market in Europe," CBRE added.
Vagabond Studio is a Romanian apparel designer, manufacturer, and retailer with a network of 14 stores across the country. It is staffed by 300 and its manufacturing facility is based in the norther city of Botosani.
According to the latest data from the finance ministry, the company's net profit rose to 1.8 million lei ($405,600/377,800 euro) in 2021 from 1.2 million lei in the previous year, while its turnover fell to 11.3 million lei from 13.9 million lei in 2020.
