March 19 (SeeNews) - Kosovo-based Balkan Foods said it has signed a franchise agreement to open a Popeyes restaurant in Kosovo this year, before introducing the brand in three more Balkan countries.
Balkan Foods has already started recruitment for the Popeyes restaurants in Kosovo and plans to open its first restaurant by the second half of the year, Balkan Foods said on Tuesday.
Balkan Foods aims to introduce the brand also in Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming years.
Established in Kosovo in 2017, Balkan Foods operates Burger King restaurants in Bulgaria, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Popeyes Louisiana Chicken was founded in 1972 in the United States. In 2017, Canada-based Restaurant Brands International acquired the company for $1.8 billion (1.7 million euro).
