June 1 (SeeNews) - Polish private equity company Enterprise Investors said on Wednesday it is looking to sell Slovenia-based regional sports goods retailer Intersport, confirming local media reports.
“As a matter of principle, we do not comment on market speculations regarding our investment activities. However, I can confirm that we have started preparations to exit Intersport and we have mandated Raiffeisen to support us,” Anna Czywczynska, communications and public affairs director at Enterprise Investors, told SeeNews in an e-mailed statement.

Polish Enterprise Fund VII, a private equity fund managed by Enterprise Investors, signed a deal to acquire 100% of Intersport in 2016 for up to 34.5 million euro ($37 million) from Slovenian retailer Mercator, according to the website of the Polish company.
According to Croatian magazine Lider, Intersport runs more than 140 stores in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia.
Enterprise Investors is also owner of Croatia's largest supermarket chain by the number of outlets, Studenac.
