September 29 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) ended lower on Thursday on losses in Podravka, Adris, and Atlantska Plovidba, data showed.
The 22-share CROBEX dropped 0.80% to end at 1,900.46 points, recording a 10th fall in as many trading days. The narrower index CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, shed 0.92% to close at 1,122.96 points, extending its losing streak for a fifth day.
In regular trading, shipping company Tankerska Next Generation [ZSE:TPNG], which is part of the CROBEX, but not a constituent of the CROBEX10, generated the biggest daily turnover of 2.2 million kuna ($285,000/292,000 euro). Its shares ended 0.79% lower at 75 kuna on the news that its peer Tankerska Plovidba intends to make a voluntary tender offer to the minority shareholders of Tankerska Next Generation for the remaining 8.59% interest that it does not already own.
Second by turnover ranked food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] with 1.6 million kuna, as its shares fell 2.14% to end at 55 kuna.
Preferred shares of holding company Adris [ZSE:ADRS2] dropped 3.10% to 375 kuna in a turnover of 859,200 kuna.
Index heavyweight Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] was the only gainer among the blue chips. Its shares appreciated 0.56% to end at 179 kuna in a turnover of 785,000 kuna.
In lower turnovers, car parts maker AD Plastik [ZSE:ADPL] plunged 5.12% and shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] fell 4.25%.
The bourse's total trading turnover reached 17 million kuna from 8 million kuna on Wednesday, boosted by three block deals: a 2.3 million kuna with shares of Hrvatski Telekom, a 2.3 million kuna deal with preferred shares of Adris and a 2.7 million kuna block deal with shares of power transformer manufacturer Koncar-D&ST [ZSE:KODT2].
