ZAGREB (Croatia), August 9 (SeeNews) – Hungarian financial services group OTP said on Friday the first-half after-tax profit of its Croatian unit, OTP Banka Hrvatska, soared 42% on the year on adjusted base for leasing companies, reaching 17.4 billion forints ($60.1 million/53.7 million euro).
OTP Banka Hrvatska improved its operating profit by 23% year-on-year in the first half to 20.6 billion forints, as net interest income rose 5% to 28.2 billion forints, while net fee and commission income grew 6% to 8.3 billion forints, OTP said in an interim financial report.
First-half operating costs declined by 2% on the year to 20.9 billion forints.
OTP Banka Hrvatska's gross loans to customers increased 11% compared to the end-2018 figure, reaching 1,307.5 billion forints, while deposits fell 4% to 1,368.4 billion forints.
The Croatian lender's total assets expanded to 1,947.3 billion forints, up 6% compared to end-2018.
