April 16 (SeeNews) - Orange Romania, a unit of France Telecom's Internet and mobile arm Orange, said on Tuesday it has opened a new smart store in the northern city of Botosani and plans two more openings this month.
On April 19 and 26, Orange plans to open new smart stores in Mangalia and Brasov, expanding its network in Romania to 41 smart stores, Orange Romania said in a press release.
In March 2015, Romania became the first country in which the Orange Group launched the smart shop concept - a store where technology and digital create an innovative space that offers customers a unique buying experience.
The store in Botosani is the group's 1000th worldwide.
Orange Romania's revenues rose 5% year-on-year in 2018, reaching 1.125 billion euro ($1.273 billion), driven by growth of fixed-mobile services and higher mobile data consumption.
Orange Romania had 10.763 million customers at the end of December, up 1.3% on the year.
