January 16 (SeeNews) - The main indices on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) closed higher on Wednesday, as Optima Telekom [ZSE:OPTE] led the blue-chip gainers, erasing the losses it sustained a day earlier, bourse data showed.
Telecommunication provider Optima closed 4.71% higher at 1.78 kuna. On Tuesday it was the biggest blue-chip decliner, closing 2.3% lower at 1.70 kuna.
Diversified holding Djuro Djakovic [ZSE:DDJH] paced the blue-chip decliners, closing 3.44% lower at 12.65 kuna.
Tourism company Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] generated the highest turnover among the blue chips, of 1.03 million kuna.
ZSE's total trading turnover rose to 6.2 million kuna ($951,773/834,714 euro) on Wednesday from 4.9 million kuna on Tuesday.
The 25-share benchmark CROBEX index increased 0.27% to 1,752.38 points after going up 0.76% on Tuesday.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, went up by 0.28% to 1,015.39 after increasing 0.64% in the previous trading session.
The fixed-income CROBIS index closed with no changes at 110.8383 points.
