August 25 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 10.2 billion denars ($164.7 million/165.2 million euro) in the seven months through July, compared with a 18.8 billion denars gap in the same period last year, finance ministry data showed on Thursday.
Consolidated budget revenues totalled 137.7 billion denars in the January-July period, higher than 121.3 billion denars in the like period of 2021, the finance ministry said in a data release.
Tax revenues rose to 981 million denars in the period under review, from 742 million denars in the like period of 2021.
Total expenditures rose to 147.8 billion denars, from 140.1 billion denars in the first seven months of 2021.
In July alone, the budget was in surplus of 173 million denars compared with a 3.1 billion denars deficit in the same month last year.
At the end of 2021, North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 38.8 billion denars, compared with a 53.9 billion denars gap a year earlier.
North Macedonia's government has projected a deficit of 42.7 billion denars in the 2022 budget, equivalent to 5.3% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP).
