October 5 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose to 3,397 in September from 2,773 in the same month of 2021, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Wednesday.
Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of some 3.89 million people with 444 cars sold in September, Promocija Plus said in a statement. Its sales rose on an annual comparison basis, from 217 cars sold in September 2021.
Skoda followed with 426 cars, up from 208 in September 2021, and Renault ranked third with 268 cars, up from 212 last year.
The best-selling models in September were Skoda Octavia with 232 cars sold, Opel Crossland with 107 ones, and Renault Clio with 97 cars sold.
New car sales in the first nine months of 2022 totalled 35,642, down 4.7% compared to the same period of 2021.
In 2021, sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose by 25.5% to 45,389 vehicles.
