February 5 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia increased by 2.25% year-on-year in January, reaching 3,631, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, new car sales in Croatia were 9.7% lower in January, Promocija Plus said in an e-mailed statement.
Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of some 4.2 million people with 638 vehicles sold in January, up from 428 units a month earlier.
Skoda was the runner-up with 485 cars sold in January, up from 234 in December. Renault ranked third with 237, down from 294 in December.
The best-selling car models in Croatia in January were Skoda Octavia, of which 251 units were sold, followed by Volkswagen Polo with 149, while Volkswagen Golf was third with 122 cars sold.
In 2019, Volkswagen was the most popular brand in Croatia with a total of 8,481 cars sold, followed by Skoda with 5,873 and Renault with 5,807.
