September 5 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose to to 3,320 in August from 2,841 in the same month of 2021, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Monday.
Opel was the top-selling brand in the country of some 3.89 million people with 723 cars sold in August, Promocija Plus said in a statement. Its sales rose on an annual comparison basis, from 294 cars sold in August 2021.
Volkswagen followed with 378 cars, down from 411 in August 2021, and Skoda ranked third with 324 cars, up from 240 last year.
The best-selling models in August were Opel Crossland with 408 cars sold, Opel Corsa with 181 ones and Skoda Octavia with 169 cars sold.
New car sales in the first eight months of 2022 totalled 32,245, down almost 7% compared to the same period of 2021.
In 2021, sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose by 25.5% to 45,389 vehicles.
