October 7 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose 4% on the month to 3,552 in September after falling by 45% in August, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Monday.
In the first nine months of 2019, the sales of new cars increased 2.5% on the year to 51,337, Promocija Plus said in an e-mailed statement.
Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of some 4.2 million people with 601 cars sold in September, down from 681 cars a month earlier.
Renault was the runner-up with 394 cars sold in September, up from 269 in August, while Skoda ranked third with 362, down from 417 a month earlier.
In the January-September period, Volkswagen was the most popular brand with a total of 6,722 cars sold, followed by Renault with 4,972 and Opel with 4,800.
The best-selling car models in Croatia in September were Volkswagen Golf, of which 221 cars were sold, followed by Renault Captur with 200 and Skoda Octavia with 190.
