August 16 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia fell to 5,390 in July from 5,675 in the same month of 2021, market research agency Promocija Plus said.
Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of some 3.89 million people with 895 cars sold in July, Promocija Plus said in a statement earlier this month. Its sales rose on an annual comparison basis, from 781 cars sold in July 2021.
Skoda followed with 624 cars, up from 416 in July 2021, and Dacia ranked third with 419 cars, down from 493 last year.
The best-selling models in July were Skoda Octavia with 381 cars sold, Dacia Duster with 221 ones and Dacia Sandero with 148 units.
New car sales in the first seven months of 2022 totalled 28,925, down almost 9% compared to the same period of 2021.
In 2021, sales of new passenger cars in Croatia rose by 25.5% to 45,389 vehicles.
