July 5 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia fell 10% on the month to 8,235 in June after growing by a monthly 6% in May, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Friday.
In the first half of 2019, the sales of new cars were down 0.2% on the year, Promocija Plus said in an emailed statement.
Opel was the top-selling brand in the country of some 4.2 million people with 930 cars sold in June, down from 1,163 cars a month earlier.
Volkswagen was the runner-up with 866 cars sold in June, down from 909 in May, while Skoda ranked third with 595, up from 536 a month earlier.
In the January-June period, Volkswagen was the most popular brand with a total of 4,604 cars sold, followed by Renault with 3,909 and Opel with 3,813.
The best-selling car models in Croatia in June were Skoda Octavia, of which 388 cars were sold, followed by Fiat 500 with 342 and Citroen C3 with 334.
