April 6 (SeeNews) - Sales of new passenger cars in Croatia plummeted by 46% year-on-year in March, reaching 2,724, market research agency Promocija Plus said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, new car sales in Croatia were 24% lower in March, Promocija Plus said in an e-mailed statement.
In January-March, new car sales in Croatia fell 17.4% on the year to 10,029 units.
Volkswagen was the top-selling brand in the country of some 4.2 million people with 438 vehicles sold in the month of March, down from 540 in February.
Skoda was the runner-up with 360 cars sold in March, down from February's 636. Renault ranked third with 189 sold vehicles, down from 230 in February.
The best-selling car models in Croatia in March were Skoda Octavia, of which 130 units were sold, followed by Volkswagen T-Cross with 99, while Volkswagen Golf was third with 84 cars sold.
In 2019, Volkswagen was the most popular brand in Croatia with a total of 8,481 cars sold, followed by Skoda with 5,873 and Renault with 5,807.
