December 12 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's power supplier EVN Home is requesting an electricity price increase starting January 1, which could result in a 10% rise in the final price for consumers, local media reported on Tuesday.
EVN Home offered a price of 57 euro ($61.5) per MWh to cover 95% of the total needs of the regulated market for the first six months of 2024, up from 53 euro per MWh offered at the previous tender, news provider Faktor reported, citing Marko Bislimovski, president of the country's Energy and Water Services Regulatory Commission (ERC), as saying in an interview.
The remaining 5% of the total needs will be purchased on the free market, at prices approximately ranging between 140 and 150 euro per MWh, Bislimovski further said.
The Commission will take a final decision on the proposed electricity price increase by the end of the year, according to the report.
