August 20 (SeeNews) - N. Macedonia-based meat processing company Pekabesko [MSE:PKB] said that its consolidated net profit fell by an annual 8% to 57.3 million denars ($1.0 million/931,000 euro) in the first half of 2019.
Pekabesko's operating revenue rose 4% year-on-year to 2.3 billion denars in the January-June period of 2019, the company said in an interim financial statement last week.
Domestic sales added 4% to 2.0 billion denars, while sales abroad were 8% higher at 273 million denars.
The company's operating expenses grew 6% on the year to 2.26 billion denars in the review period, as personnel costs and expenses for materials jumped by an annual 21% and 10%, respectively.
Pekabesko was established in 1979 and privatised in 1991. The company is also active in distribution of food and cigarettes.
