November 1 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based lender NLB Banka said that its net profit fell to 1.46 billion denars ($26.5 million/23.7 million euro) in the first nine months of 2019 from 1.86 billion denars in the same period of 2018.
NLB Banka's net interest income edged up to 2.22 billion denars in the January-September period of 2019 from 2.20 billion denars in the comparable period of 2018, the company said in an interim financial statement.
Net fee and commission income increased to 809.7 million denars in the review period from 779.0 million denars the year before.
Net foreign exchange gains rose to 138.8 million denars from 128.0 million denars a year earlier, while other operating income plunged to 97.0 million denars from 575.2 million denars.
Net financial asset impairments decreased to 194.5 million denars in the first nine months of the year from 268.8 million denars in the same period of 2018. Depreciation and amortisation costs also fell, to 128.2 million denars from 148.4 million denars the year before.
NLB Banka's assets increased to 84.0 billion denars at the end of September from 81.8 billion denars at the end of 2018.
Loans and advances to customers other than banks fell to 51.1 billion denars at the end of September from 51.5 billion denars at the end of last year, while deposits from customers other than banks increased to 68.7 billion denars from 66.4 billion denars.
