May 13 (SeeNews) - North Macedonian confectionery maker Evropa [MSE:EVRO] said on Monday that its non-consolidated net profit plunged by an annual 59% to 9 million denars ($165,000/146,000 euro) in the first quarter of 2019.
Evropa's total operating revenue fell 7% year-on-year to 149.7 million denars in the first three months of the year, the company said in an interim financial statement.
Domestic sales lost 5% to 69.1 million denars, while sales abroad slid 10% to 80.0 million denars.
Operating expenses added 4% to 148.8 million denars, mainly on the back of an 80% increase in expenses for hired services, which totalled 12.5 million denars.
Evropa produces chocolates, wafers and candy and owns 10 confectionery stores in Macedonia, six of them in Skopje.
