February 19 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's power utility Elektrani na Severna Makedonija (ESM) said it signed a contract worth 2.8 billion denars ($49 million/45.5 million euro), VAT included, with local diversified company Markovski Company for excavation of coal and tailings at the Brod-Gnotino mine of the REK Bitola thermal power plant.
Under the terms of the deal, the assignment is expected to be completed by August 13, 2025, ESM said in a notice published on the country's public procurement portal on Friday.
The companies signed the agreement on February 13.
REK Bitola accounts for over 72% of North Macedonia's total energy production.
