June 9 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's economic output expanded by an estimated 2.4% year-on-year in real terms in the first quarter of 2022, after rising by 2.3% in the previous three-month period, the country's statistical office said on Thursday, citing preliminary data.
Gross domestic product (GDP) totalled 180.8 billion denars ($3.1 billion/2.9 billion euro) at current prices in the January-March period, Makstat said in a statement.
Exports of goods and services rose by an annual 18.6% in nominal terms, while imports increased 33.5% in the quarter under review.
Household final consumption grew by an estimated 12.2% on the year in the first quarter.
North Macedonia's GDP expanded by an estimated 4% in 2021 after falling by 4.5% in 2020.
