March 11 (SeeNews) - The number of building permits issued in North Macedonia decreased by 34.4% year-on-year to 256 in January, the statistical office said on Monday.
The estimated value of the construction projects covered by the building permits issued in January went down 41.6% on the year to 4.5 billion denars ($79.9 million/73.1 million euro), Makstat said in a statement.
Of the total number of permits, 166 were for new buildings, 48 were for civil engineering projects and 42 were for reconstruction projects.
Of the total, 164 permits were issued to private individuals.
During the review period, 615 dwellings were planned for construction, with a total usable floor area of 56,031 sq m.
