March 26 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 11.2 billion denars ($197 million/181 million euro) in the first two months of 2024, compared with a 5.7 billion denars gap in the same period last year, finance ministry data showed.
Consolidated budget revenues increased 17.4% year-on-year to 44.6 billion denars in the January-February period of 2024, official figures showed on Monday.
Total expenditures rose to 55.8 billion denars, from 43.7 billion denars in the first two months of the previous year.
At the end of 2023, North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 41.4 billion denars, compared with a 35.5 billion denars gap at the end of 2022.
North Macedonia's government has projected a budget deficit of 33.5 billion denars in 2024, equivalent to 3.4% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP).
