October 7 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's consumer prices rose 0.3% year-on-year in September, after increasing by 0.8% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 38% in the consumer basket, increased by 1.1% year-on-year in September, after growing 1.8% in August, the statistical office said in a statement.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second-largest weight of 13%, edged down 0.3% in September after falling 0.2% in the prior month.
Prices in the transport segment, with 8.7% weight in the consumer basket, fell 3.5% in September, following a 1.6% drop in the previous month.
On a monthly comparison basis, North Macedonia's consumer prices edged down 0.6% in September, after adding 0.3% in August.
