June 24 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Montenegro more than doubled to 213.9 million euro ($61.8 million) in the first four months of 2022, from 120.2 million euro in the prior-year period, the central bank said, citing preliminary figures.
Total FDI inflow increased to 306.5 million euro in the first four months of 2022 from 238.0 million euro in January-April 2021, while FDI outflow fell to 92.6 million euro from 117.8 million euro, the central bank said.
The inflow of investments in companies and banks went down to 52.1 million euro in the period under review, from 52.0 million euro a year earlier, while investments in real estate stood at 121.9 million euro, up from 51.2 million euro in January-April 2021.
FDI inflow in the form of intercompany lending decreased to 102.4 million euro in the first four months of 2022 from 123.6 million euro in the like period of 2021.
The net inflow of FDI into Montenegro grew to 552 million euro in 2021, from 467.5 million euro in the previous year.
