March 1 (SeeNews) - The internet traffic in mobile networks in Montenegro rose 45% in 2023, while fixed network internet traffic increased 21% in the same period, the country's statistical office said.
In the fourth quarter alone, mobile internet traffic rose 26% on the year and fell 21% on the quarter to 36.73 million GB, te statistics service said in a statement last week.
The internet traffic in fixed networks was down by an annual 7% and dropped by a quarterly 1% to 191.1 million GB in October-December, the statement read.
At the same time, mobile telephony traffic dropped 3.6% and fixed telephony traffic shrank 20% in 2023. In the fourth quarter alone, some 654 million minutes were spend on mobile phones in Montenegro, up by an annual 0.8% but down by a quarterly 7%.
Montenegrins spent some 14 million minute on fixed telephony calls in October-December, down by 20% on the year and 15% lower compared to the third quarter of 2023.
