May 10 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's customs revenue rose 9% on the year to 378 million euro ($406 million) in gross terms in the first four months of 2024, the country's customs agency said on Friday.
January-April customs revenue was 8.6% higher than expected, the agency said in a statement.
Revenue from value added tax (VAT) rose 5.3% on the year to 256.5 million euro in January-April, with excise revenue jumping 20% to 103 million euro, the statement read.
Customs duties increased by an annual 13% to 17.5 million euro in the first four months of 2024, with revenue from tax on coffee totalling 804,800 euro in the period.
