April 8 (SeeNews) - Montenegro will permit traffic on the Mojkovac-Djurdjevic Tara road at specified times starting April 15th, transport minister Filip Radulovic said on Monday.
“This is an extremely important route, especially during the summer tourist season. That's why I understand the dissatisfaction of the locals and owners of hospitality objects on this section of the road,” Radulovic said in a press release.
The road is situated in the northeastern part of the country, close to the border with Serbia, and is an important tourist route.
It was closed in January 2023 due to a landslide in Sokolovina, which had a considerable impact on the last tourist season, according to a report by local newspaper Vijesti.
According to the government, works on the permanent rehabilitation of the Sokolovina landslide began in November last year. The project envisages the construction of four galleries with a total length of around 400 metres in an investment of 10.6 million euro ($11.5 million).
