PODGORICA (Montenegro), March 12 (SeeNews) – Montenegro's transport ministry plans to hire a consultant who will propose reforms for the improvement of intercity road passenger transport services, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
The consultant will review policies, assess operations of providers of intercity road passenger transport services, and prepare plans and policy reforms to assist the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Affairs in improving the quality and regulation of the sector, the EBRD said in a statement on Monday.
The cost of the assignment is 150,000 euro ($168,800), to be financed by the Central European Initiative (CEI). The assignment will start in June 2019 and have an estimated overall duration of 12 months.
The assignment is part of a project for the rehabilitation and upgrade of three sections of Montenegro’s main road network with a total length of approximately 51.5 km. The project is part of a wider programme to rehabilitate 12 main road sections with a total length of some 216.3 km.
The EBRD is considering a loan to Montenegro to support the road rehabilitation project.
