March 17 (SeeNews) - Montenegro has confirmed the first two cases of the novel coronavirus disease on its territory, prime minister Dusko Markovic said.
"It is very likely that new cases will be discovered soon," Markovic told an extraordinary news conference late on Tuesday, as seen in a video file posted on the website of public broadcaster RTCG.
"The patients are female - born in 1948 and 1973, and both have resided in epidemic-affected areas. They are hospitalised in a special ward of the Clinical Center, and both are currently in a stable medical condition," Markovic said.
Montenegro was the last country in Europe which had not reported any coronavirus case until Tuesday. On March 16, the country closed its borders for foreign nationals to prevent the spread of the disease on its territory.
